Chile One Declares Himself Zambia’s “Biggest Artist,” Ignites Social Media Debate

Chile One Mr Zambia has set social media ablaze after boldly declaring himself as the biggest artist in Zambia during an interview on the Za Nyimbo show in Malawi.

The outspoken musician, whose real name is Obed Chileshe, confidently dismissed comparisons between himself and fellow Zambian star Yo Maps, insisting that he currently stands above every artist in the country.

“I Am the Biggest” — Chile One Speaks Boldly

During the interview, Chile One made it clear that he does not see himself competing at the same level as anyone else in the local music industry.

“Don’t compare me with Yo Maps, I am bigger than anyone. These conversations people are saying online about who is big — I am the biggest,” he said.

The statement immediately triggered heated conversations online, with fans debating whether the singer’s confidence matches his current influence and achievements.

International Plans on the Horizon

Chile One also hinted at major international ambitions, revealing that he has plans extending beyond Zambia’s borders.

Although he did not reveal full details, the singer mentioned upcoming activities connected to countries such as Israel and Dubai.

“I have plans but you don’t tell people what’s coming. I have plans going to Israel, Dubai and other places,” he explained.

His comments have fueled speculation among fans about possible international performances, collaborations, or expansion plans.

Confidence in “Ba Neighbor Remix”

Chile One also expressed strong confidence in his latest collaboration, Ba Neighbor Remix, which features Tanzanian superstar Harmonize.

According to the singer, the remix has the potential to become one of Africa’s biggest songs.

“If you look at my song Ba Neighbor Remix featuring Harmonize, it is going to be the biggest song in Africa,” he stated.

He further emphasized that his goal is to prove his dominance within the Zambian music industry.

“I want to prove a point that I am the biggest artist in my country. They shouldn’t lie to you.”

Relationship with Harmonize Goes Beyond Music

Speaking about his collaboration with Harmonize, Chile One revealed that their relationship is deeper than business alone.

He explained that the Tanzanian artist personally suggested remixing Ba Neighbor instead of recording an entirely new song together.

“With Harmonize it is more than a business deal, he is more like a brother to me,” Chile One shared.

The partnership between the two artists has already attracted significant attention across Zambia and East Africa.

Fans Divided Online

Following the interview, social media users quickly split into opposing camps.

Some fans praised Chile One’s confidence and ambition, arguing that his rapid rise and consistency deserve recognition. Others believe his success reflects the growing strength of Zambia’s music industry overall.

However, another section of fans argued that while Chile One is undeniably among Zambia’s top artists, Yo Maps currently holds a stronger international presence and wider reach across Africa.

One fan commented:

“He is big in Zambia but Yo Maps is international. The two can’t be on the same level.”

Another fan suggested that a collaboration between Chile One and Yo Maps could have been even more impactful.

“Instead of featuring Harmonize, he could have just featured Yo Maps. It could have been the song of the year.”

A Debate That Continues Growing

Chile One’s comments have once again highlighted the ongoing conversation about who currently leads Zambia’s music industry. While opinions remain divided, one thing is certain—the singer has successfully captured public attention and reignited discussions around influence, popularity, and international recognition in Zambian music.

Whether fans agree or disagree with his statement, Chile One’s confidence and ambition continue to keep him at the center of conversation.
