ZESCO unearths transformers theft syndicate

(ZANIS) ZESCO has unearthed a criminal syndicate, in which transformers, worth 10-million kwacha, have been stolen in Masaiti district on the Copperbelt.

A team of ZESCO security and State Police have discovered 20 transformers, which were stolen and hidden underground at a named farm in Mundawanga area of Masaiti.

ZESCO Spokesperson, MATONGO MAUMBI has described the theft as the worst in the history of the company.
